Finn Road Campground


Park with boat launch, canal, and campground.

Located 2-1/4 miles north of M-25 at the end of Finn Road on the Saginaw Bay. The campground includes a bath house, pavilion, handicap fishing pier, camping facilities with cement padded RV sites with water, sewer and electric (30 or 50 amp) and a dump station for recreational vehicles. Each site is complete with a picnic table and a fire pit.

The Finn Road Park and Campground is owned by Hampton Township and is open from  May 1st - October 31st. Reservations for the next year can be made beginning October 1st of the current year. The office is closed November-March. To make a reservation, please contact the Park Manager, Ellen Lutz at finnroadpark@gmail.com,

Finn Road Boat Launch

Ridge Road Park


Located at the Park and Campground. There is a small boat launch area with plenty of parking for vehicles. The channel offers quick access to the Saginaw Bay for any fishing adventure or sight-seeing trip.

If water levels are low, there may not be sufficient water depth in the channel. Please check with the Park Manager for water level status.

Permits are required to use the launch and are available as a Daily Permit or a Seasonal Permit. Both types of permits can be purchased at the campground office.

Park with a baseball field and a Pond

Located on the north side of Ridge Road just west of Pine Street. This 6 acre parcel is developed with 1 ball diamond, playground equipment and a picnic area with two pavilions.

We do not rent out the pavilions for events. They are first come first serve. If you need more information please contact the Hampton Township Administrative Office at (989) 893-7541.

Jones Road Park

Located on a 30 acre parcel at the northwest corner of Ridge and Jones Roads. This facility was constructed as a joint park and storm water retention basin. About 5 acres is a permanent basin and another 5 to 10 acres are flooded during the spring thaw. Major facilities include 2 ball diamonds, playground and a picnic area with pavilion.

Wood Memorial Park

Wood Memorial Park is located on Youngs Ditch Road just west of N. Pine and is located on the Riverwalk/Railtrail. The property was owned by Lee Wood Contracting and with donations and hardworking volunteers, this park with parking and a pavilion was donated to Hampton Township in his memory.

Nature Trail


The trail runs from Finn Rd Park and Campground and winds through the woods, to the end at Jones Rd was completed and a dedication ceremony took place on July 30, 2013.  This trail is not handicap accessible.

The last section of the Nature Trail, completed in 2021, includes a loop to the east of the Finn Road Boat Launch. The expansion project was made possible with a Michigan Department of Natural Resource Trust Fund grant.  This part of the trail is handicap accessible and includes two sections of boardwalk and a handicap accessible observation tower that looks over the Saginaw Bay.

Interpretive signs with QR codes identify Birds of Prey and the Saginaw Bay Blueways and Birding Trails Network. This part of the nature trail continues west and ends at Jones Rd. Come enjoy nature at its best. (Birding Checklist)

Riverwalk/Railtrail


The Riverwalk and Railtrail provides 9.5 miles of non-motorized pathways that run along the riverfront in Veteran's Memorial Park through urban areas of Bay City, and through rural and residential areas of Portsmouth and Hampton Townships.

The trails are used by thousands annually and are handicapped accessible. There are no trail fees and everyone is welcome to enjoy the fresh air and striking scenery along the trail.     Click to view trail Map


Bay County Golf Course


Golf course.

For the golfing enthusiast, the Bay County Golf Course is the place for you. Located on Hampton Road, just west of Knight Road. This beautiful 18 hole course has watered fairways and a clubhouse.
