NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TO:  THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP  OF HAMPTON

            Notice is hereby given that the Hampton Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, August 21, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room (or the hall depending on COVID-19 requirements) of the Hampton Township Hall, 801 West Center Road, Essexville, Michigan 48732, to consider an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance in the B-1 General Business District as well as the Agricultural Business District and Heavy Commercial District which would further regulate, define and require setbacks between certain business uses, including indoor recreational facilities and residentially zoned property.  In some circumstances, some setbacks may be reduced and in other circumstances other uses may be added to the additional setback requirement depending upon the potential intrusion of the business into the residential environment next door.  These specifically deal with Section 8.02(B) Principal Uses Permitted Subject to Special Conditions, subparagraph 9 dealing with indoor recreation. 

            You are welcome to attend and express your opinions at the hearing or you may express your views in writing.  The application and proposed changes to the Ordinance will be available for review and inspection at the Township offices between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.  All communications must be received at the Township offices prior to the date of the hearing.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

TO:  THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF HAMPTON

Notice is hereby given that the Hampton Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room of the Hampton Township Hall, 801 West Center Road, Essexville, Michigan 48732, to consider at the request of the applicant, Anita Wood, the owner of the below described properties for a special use permit that would enable her to sell and allow to build a single family homes on these parcels of property.  The property is Zoned I-1 Industrial District and residential single family homes are permitted within this zoning district only pursuant to a special use permit authorized by the Planning Commission.  The parcel has tax number 070-059-200-055-03 and 070-059-200-055-04 (legal descriptions respectively listed below).  The parcels are legally described as:

A parcel of land situated in the Northwest ¼ of the Southwest ¼ of Section 29, Town 14 North, Range 6 East, Hampton Township, Bay County Michigan as described as: Beginning at a point on the North-South ¼ line that is South 03°17’00” East, 1569.32 feet from the North ¼ corner, thence North 86°29’11” East, 658.56 feet to the East line of the Northwest ¼ of the Southwest ¼ of the Northeast ¼; thence South 03°13’44” East, 205.94 feet along said East line;  thence South 86°42’49” West, 658.15 feet to the North-South ¼ line;  thence North 03°17’00” West, 203.33 feet along the North-South ¼ line to the point of beginning.  Containing 3.09 acres and subject to the Right-of-way for North Burns Road over the West 33 feet thereof.

COTTER ROAD RECLASSIFIACTION
On Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 9:15 a.m., a Public Hearing will be held during the Board of County Road Commissioners, County of Bay’s regular meeting at the offices of the Bay County Road Commission, 2600 E. Beaver Road, Kawkawlin, MI 48631.  The Public Hearing is being held to discuss and receive public comments regarding the Charter Township of Hampton’s request to re-classify a portion of Cotter Road from Local to Seasonal.  Specifically, the portion of Cotter Road from Nebobish Road to Cotter Road’s northern terminus or dead end.  A map of the location is included below. 

The re-classification is being requested and considered by the Bay County Road Commission, due to vandalism and unauthorized dumping at this location, which has significantly increased over the past several years.  The classification change will allow Hampton Township, the Bay County Road Commission, both in association with, the Department of Natural Resources, to better control access to this segment of Cotter Road throughout the year.

Pine Road, Essexville, Michigan 48732 and has property tax number 070-026-200-070-00.  Pursuant to the Township Zoning Ordinance, adult foster care facilities are not allowed in the B-1 (Business District) without special use permit.
